Regular Season Round 19: Anyang KGC - KoGas 84-85

The most exciting game of round 19 in the KBL took place in Anyang. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 3rd placed Anyang KGC (13-9) to fourth ranked KoGas (12-11) 85-84 on Tuesday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Anyang KGC. KoGas made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. KoGas had a 34-22 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Anyang KGC helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for American center Cliff Alexander (203-95, college: Kansas) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 22 rebounds. Forward Dae-Heon Lee (198-92) helped adding 19 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. KoGas' coach Yoo Hoon used entire bench in such tough game. At the losing side American Omari Spellman (207-97, college: Villanova) responded with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds and international guard Junhyeong Byeon (186-96) scored 10 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. KoGas maintains fourth place with 12-11 record. Defending champion Anyang KGC keeps the third position with nine games lost. KoGas are looking forward to face Mobis Phoebus (#7) in Ulsan in the next round. Anyang KGC will play at home against LG Sakers (#9) and is hoping to win this game.
