The game between closely ranked teams ended with 10th ranked Samsung Th.'s (6-17) road loss to ninth ranked LG Sakers (9-15) 68-81 on Monday. Egyptian center Assem Marei (206-92, college: MSU) fired a double-double by scoring 12 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Forward Hee-Jae Jeong (195-89) chipped in 22 points. Four LG Sakers players scored in double figures. Nigerian forward Daniel Ochefu (211-93, college: Villanova) produced 12 points and 7 rebounds and center Weon-Seok Lee (203-0) added 15 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. LG Sakers maintains ninth place with 9-15 record. Samsung Th. lost sixth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 17 games lost. LG Sakers will meet higher ranked Anyang KGC (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Samsung Th. will play against Goyang Orions (#5) in Daegu and hope to secure a win.
