Regular Season Round 21: Niigata A. - Hiroshima D. 63-82

There was no surprise when 11th ranked Niigata A. (2-19) was outplayed at home by fifth ranked Hiroshima D. (13-8) 82-63 on Sunday. Hiroshima D. dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Niigata A.'s 24. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was Venezuelan center Gregory Echenique (206-90, college: Creighton, agency: Pensack Sports) who scored 18 points and 7 rebounds. American forward Nick Mayo (206-97, college: EKU, agency: Pensack Sports) chipped in 16 points and 9 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Hungarian-American Rosco Allen (208-93, college: Stanford, agency: Pensack Sports) who recorded 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Keigo Kimura (188-0, college: St.Joseph, CT) added 15 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Hiroshima D.. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Akita NH. Niigata A. lost their eighteenth game in a row. They keep the eleventh position with 19 games lost. Hiroshima D. will meet Akita NH (#6) on the road in the next round. Niigata A. will play against Shiga L-Stars (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
