South Korea
Regular Season Round 18: SK Knights - LG Sakers 83-77
Date: December 18, 2021
There was no surprise in Seoul where 9th ranked LG Sakers (8-15) were defeated by second ranked SK Knights (15-7) 83-77 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The former international Joon-Young Choi (200-94) scored 25 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American center Jameel Warney (203-94, college: Stony Brook) chipped in 14 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was Nigerian center Abdul-Malik Abu (203-95, college: NC State) with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and Filipino guard Kwan-Hee Lee (190-88) scored 23 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. SK Knights maintains second position with 15-7 record behind leader KT Sonicboom. Loser LG Sakers keep the ninth place with 15 games lost. SK Knights will meet DB Promy (#5) in the next round. LG Sakers will play against Samsung Th. (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
