Regular Season Round 18: KoGas - Samsung Th. 96-75
Date: December 18, 2021
Very expected game in Inchon where 10th ranked Samsung Th. (6-16) was rolled over by fourth ranked KoGas (11-11) 96-75 on Saturday. KoGas looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American center Cliff Alexander (203-95, college: Kansas) had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and international guard Nakhyeon Kim (180-95) chipped in 14 points and 9 assists during the contest. Four KoGas players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American Thomas Robinson (208-91, college: Kansas) with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 14 rebounds and the former international point guard Si-Rae Kim (179-89) scored 5 points and 7 assists. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. KoGas maintains fourth position with 11-11 record. Samsung Th. lost fifth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 16 games lost. KoGas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Samsung Th. will play against LG Sakers (#9) in Changwon and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
