Regular Season Round 20: Shimane SM - Shinshu BW 91-71

Very expected game when 6th ranked Shinshu BW (9-11) was smashed on the road by second ranked Shimane SM (14-6) 91-71 on Saturday. Shimane SM outrebounded Shinshu BW 36-23 including 27 on the defensive glass. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. Shimane SM looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The winners were led by American forward Perrin Buford (198-94, college: MTSU, agency: Pensack Sports) who scored that evening 22 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import forward Reid Travis (203-95, college: Kentucky, agency: Pensack Sports) supported him with 20 points and 7 rebounds. Even 21 points by American forward Josh Hawkinson (208-95, college: WSU) did not help to save the game for Shinshu BW. Swingman Reo Maeda (191-97) added 15 points and 6 assists for the guests. Five Shimane SM and four Shinshu BW players scored in double figures. Shimane SM maintains second position with 14-6 record having just two points less than leader Ryukyu GK, which they share with Hitachi SRT. Shinshu BW lost sixth consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh place with 11 games lost. They share the position with Hokkaido L.. Shimane SM will again meet at home Shinshu BW (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Shinshu BW will have a break next round.
