Regular Season Round 12: Duba Club - Al Ahly 71-74

A very close game took place in Tabuk between Al Ahly and Duba Club. Seventh ranked Al Ahly (4-6) got a very close victory on the road over 11th ranked Duba Club (1-11). Al Ahly managed to escape with a 3-point win 74-71 on Friday evening. Strangely Duba Club outrebounded Al Ahly 48-29 including 17 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of Yahya Ibrahim who helped to win the game recording 35 points (!!!) and 4 assists and American forward Steve Taylor Jr. (206-93, college: Toledo) who added 12 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Al Ahly's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was Egyptian center Ahmed Ismail (216-95, college: IUPUI) with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 31 rebounds and 4 assists and Osama Almuwallad scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. Four Duba Club players scored in double figures. Despite that victory Al Ahly went down to eighth position due to points difference. Duba Club lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the eleventh place with 11 games lost. Al Ahly will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Duba Club will play against Al Ittihad (#4) and hope to win that game.
