Regular Season Round 4: Ginebra Kings - North Port 108-82
Date: December 17, 2021
There was no surprise in Manila where bottom-ranked North Port (0-4) was crushed by top-ranked Ginebra Kings (3-0) 108-82 on Friday. Ginebra Kings forced 19 North Port turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by North Port's players. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Justin Brownlee (197-88, college: St.John's) who helped to win the game recording 28 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Scottie Thompson (188-93) who added 8 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists during the contest. Brownlee is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side guard Robert Bolick (185-95) responded with 32 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and center Gregory Slaughter (216-88, agency: BeoBasket) scored 7 points and 15 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Ginebra Kings have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 3-0 record behind leader NLEX RW. Loser North Port still closes the standings with four games lost. They share the position with Blackwater Elite. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
