Regular Season Round 21: Koshigaya A. - Ehime OV 87-75

Rather predictable result in Tokyo where third ranked Koshigaya A. (15-6) beat 7th ranked Ehime OV (7-15) 87-75. Koshigaya A. dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Ehime OV's 26. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. It was a good game for swingman Makoto Kamata (193-0) who led his team to a victory with 22 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists. American Craig Brackins (208-87, college: Iowa St., agency: SDJ Sports) contributed with 11 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Koshigaya A.'s coach Sho Higashijima used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. American-German center Ryan Kriener (208-98, college: Iowa) answered with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds and guard Tatsuhiko Toshino (185-88) added 11 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists in the effort for Ehime OV. Four Koshigaya A. and five Ehime OV players scored in double figures. Koshigaya A. moved-up to second place, which they share with Fukushima. Ehime OV lost their third game in a row. They keep the seventh position with 15 games lost. Koshigaya A. will play against league's leader Kagawa FA in Takamatsu in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Ehime OV will play on the road against the league's second-placed Nishinomiya S. (#2) in Hyogo and hopes to get back on the winning track.
