Regular Season Round 20: Yamagata - Bambitious N. 75-81

There was a small surprise when seventh ranked Bambitious N. (7-13) defeated on the road 5th ranked Yamagata (11-9) 81-75 on Saturday. Bambitious N. looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American Greg Mangano (208-89, college: Yale) who had a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds. Zimbabwean-American swingman Jordache Mavunga (193, college: Indianapolis, agency: Pensack Sports) chipped in 9 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Bambitious N. players scored in double figures. American center Kenny Lawson (207-88, college: Creighton) produced 23 points and 6 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and Spanish-Dominican Orlando Sanchez (206-88, college: St.John's) added 8 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bambitious N. moved-up to sixth place. Yamagata lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with nine games lost. Bambitious N. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Yamagata will play again against Bambitious N. (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
