Regular Season Round 16: LG Sakers - KoGas 83-82

There was an upset in Changwon where higher ranked KoGas (9-10) were edged by ninth ranked LG Sakers (7-14) 83-82 on Saturday. The former international point guard Jae-Do Lee (180-91) fired 18 points and 8 assists for the winners. Egyptian center Assem Marei (206-92, college: MSU) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds. Four LG Sakers players scored in double figures. LG Sakers' coach Sung-won Cho used entire bench in such tough game. Canadian Andrew Nicholson (206-89, college: St.Bonaventure) produced 39 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds and forward Dae-Heon Lee (198-92) added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. LG Sakers maintains ninth position with 7-14 record. Loser KoGas dropped to the seventh place with ten games lost. LG Sakers will meet higher ranked KCC Egis (#5) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. KoGas will play against DB Promy and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
