Not a big story in a game when 5th ranked Al Ansar (5-5) was outscored by second ranked Al Nasr (9-1) in Riyadh 98-71 on Friday. Al Nasr outrebounded Al Ansar 42-28 including 34 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American power forward Chris Johnson (210-85, college: LSU) notched a double-double by scoring 28 points, 19 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and the former international guard Khalid Abdel-Gabar (188-90, college: Windsor) supported him with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Even a double-double of 21 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals by Jordanian guard Sami Bzai (190-94, college: SE Oklahoma) did not help to save the game for Al Ansar. Forward Ayman Belal added 19 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Five Al Nasr and four Al Ansar players scored in double figures. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Al Hilal. Loser Al Ansar dropped to the sixth place with five games lost. They share the position with Al Fateh. Al Nasr's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Riyadh to the arena Al Hilal.
