Regular Season Round 14: Parsa - Rafsanjan 78-73

The most important game in the last round took place in Mashhad between third ranked Rafsanjan (4-2) and fifth ranked Parsa (3-4) on Tuesday night. Rafsanjan was defeated by Parsa in a tough game on the road 73-78. The former international forward Navid Khajezadeh (196-96) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points and 8 rebounds. American point guard Brian Starr (190-96, college: Towson) contributed with 21 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Starr is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Majid Rahimian replied with 17 points and 7 rebounds and power forward Mohammad Khaleghifard (203-85) added 14 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Rafsanjan. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Parsa maintains fifth position with 3-4 record. Rafsanjan at the other side keeps the third place with two games lost. Parsa are again looking forward to face higher ranked Rafsanjan (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Rafsanjan will have a break next round.
