Regular Season Round 17: Toyoda - Aisin AW 67-81

Very expected game when 13th ranked Toyoda (3-15) lost to eighth ranked Aisin AW (9-7) in Aichi 67-81 on Sunday. Aisin AW dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Toyoda's 20. They outrebounded Toyoda 55-39 including 16 on the offensive glass. American players dominated also this game. Forward Jordan Faison (201-94, college: CPP) nailed a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists for the winning side and center Nigel Spikes (208-89, college: Marshall) accounted for 10 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Four Aisin AW players scored in double figures. Guard Tucker Haymond (198-94, college: W.Michigan) came up with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 16 rebounds and 7 assists and power forward Jalen Billups (200-92, college: NKU, agency: BIG) added 14 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Toyoda in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Aisin AW have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain eighth place with 9-7 record. Loser Toyoda keeps the thirteenth position with 15 games lost. Aisin AW will meet at home Gifu (#10) in the next round. Toyoda will have a break next round.
