Regular Season Round 13: Al Arabi - Al Wakrah 56-65

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Doha. First ranked Al Wakrah faced 4th placed Al Arabi. Guests from Al Wakrah (6-1) defeated host Al Arabi (3-3) 65-56. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Al Arabi. Worth to mention a great performance of American Julius Coles Jr (193-89, college: Canisius) who helped to win the game recording 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import swingman Brandon Spearman (191-91, college: Hawaii) contributed with 18 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Spearman is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Four Al Wakrah players scored in double figures. Point guard Christian Casas answered with 21 points and the former international forward Sammy Monroe (198-85, college: Newberry) added 2 points, 16 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals in the effort for Al Arabi. Al Wakrah have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 6-1 record. Al Arabi at the other side dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. They share it with Al Gharafa. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
