Regular Season Round 16: Kanazawa - Tokyo HT 51-95
Date: December 4, 2021
Very expected game in Ishikawa where bottom-ranked Kanazawa (0-16) was rolled over by tenth ranked Tokyo HT (8-10) 95-51 on Saturday. Tokyo HT dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Kanazawa's 30. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward John Fields (205-88, college: Tennessee) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks and Senegalese forward Bamba Diouf (198-93) who added 20 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Serbian forward Dusan Vicentic (204-97, college: WVWC) responded with 12 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Shodai Tanaka (178-97) scored 10 points and 7 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Tokyo HT moved-up to ninth place. Loser Kanazawa still closes the standings. Tokyo HT will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Kanazawa will play again against Tokyo HT (#9) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
