Everything went according to plan when fourth ranked Yamagata (11-6) beat on the road 6th ranked Tokyo Z (2-16) 77-62 on Tuesday. Yamagata looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was Spanish-Dominican Orlando Sanchez (206-88, college: St.John's) who scored 15 points and 6 rebounds. Point guard Shunto Murakami (183-96) chipped in 13 points and 4 assists. American-Haitian forward Marc-Eddy Norelia (203-93, college: FGCU, agency: Duran International) produced 17 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and American center Joshua Crawford (211-88, college: Indiana St.) added 19 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Tokyo Z's coach Hugo Lopez rotated ten players and allowed the starting five to rest. Yamagata moved-up to third place, which they share with Fukushima. Loser Tokyo Z keeps the sixth position with 16 games lost. Yamagata will meet league's second-placed Nishinomiya S. in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Tokyo Z will play against Aomori W. (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
