Regular Season Round 10: Al Sadd - Al Ahli 78-82

Al Sadd (2-1) recorded its first loss in Doha on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by sixth ranked Al Ahli (2-1) 82-78. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Al Sadd. They outrebounded Al Sadd 43-30 including 30 on the defensive glass. Al Ahli looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American forward Antwaine Wiggins (203-88, college: Charleston, agency: BIG) fired a double-double by scoring 29 points and 13 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) for the winners. International forward Ndoye Seydou (205-99) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals. Four Al Ahli players scored in double figures. Greek center Zisis Sarikopoulos (213-90, college: Ohio St.) produced a double-double by scoring 25 points and 15 rebounds and international forward Babacar Dieng (197-97) added 23 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Al Ahli moved-up to third place, which they share with Al Sadd and Al Shamal. Al Ahli will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Al Sadd's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Doha to the arena Qatar Club.
