Regular Season Round 16: FE Nagoya - Saga B. 77-78

A very close game took place in Nagoya between Saga B. and FE Nagoya. Sixth ranked Saga B. (7-9) got a very close victory on the road over top-ranked FE Nagoya (13-3). Saga B. managed to escape with a 1-point win 78-77 on Saturday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the home team. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of FE Nagoya. They outrebounded FE Nagoya 48-31 including 34 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by British forward Myles Hesson (198-90) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 29 points and 17 rebounds and Cuban guard Reynaldo Garcia (187-90) supported him with 23 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Saga B.'s coach Yuta Miyanaga used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Even 5 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists by American forward Scootie Randall (198-90, college: Temple) did not help to save the game for FE Nagoya. Guard Kaito Ishikawa (188-90) added 17 points and 7 assists for lost side. Four FE Nagoya players scored in double figures. Saga B. moved-up to fifth place. Loser FE Nagoya still keeps top position with three games lost. Saga B. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. FE Nagoya will play again against Saga B. and hope to secure a win.
