No shocking result in a game when third ranked Nur-Sultan Tigers (7-2) crushed on the road 6th ranked Karaganda (3-7) 72-48 on Friday. Nur-Sultan Tigers dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Karaganda's 32. They outrebounded Karaganda 42-29 including a 27-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. International forward Kamazhay Otegenova (180-1) nailed a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side and forward Anastasia Knaub (184-5) accounted for 18 points and 9 rebounds. Four Nur-Sultan Tigers players scored in double figures. The former international forward Rauan Tutkishova (182-91) came up with 19 points and 6 rebounds and the former international guard Mariya Astapenko (180-89) added 9 points respectively for Karaganda in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Nur-Sultan Tigers moved-up to second place, which they share with Irtysh. Karaganda lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the sixth position with seven games lost. Nur-Sultan Tigers will meet at home Caspiy Aktau (#5) in the next round. Karaganda will play against Shymkent in Kazygurt and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
