Regular Season Round 8: Nur-Sultan Tigers - SCYSS 72-55

There was no surprise when 7th ranked SCYSS (1-7) was defeated on the road by third ranked Nur-Sultan Tigers (6-2) 72-55 on Wednesday. Nur-Sultan Tigers held SCYSS to an opponent 25.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 34.2 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded SCYSS 59-42 including a 39-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Anastasia Knaub (184-5) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 rebounds and international point guard Elvira Mirsagatova (170-3) who added 14 points and 6 assists during the contest. Power forward Makpal Nusipova (182-99) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds and swingman Dariya Kovaleva (174-2) scored 12 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Nur-Sultan Tigers moved-up to second place, which they share with Okzhetpes and Irtysh. SCYSS lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with seven games lost. Nur-Sultan Tigers will meet Karaganda (#6) on the road in the next round. SCYSS will play against Shymkent and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
