D1 top team - Turan (7-0) had no problems winning another game on Tuesday. This time they crushed seventh ranked SCYSS (1-6) in Almaty 90-61. Turan dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to SCYSS's 42. Turan forced 23 SCYSS turnovers and outrebounded them 45-34 including a 33-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by SCYSS's players. Power forward Tamila Zhakipova (182-0) fired a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. The former international forward Tamara Yagodkina (183-90) chipped in 15 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Turan players scored in double figures. Forward Diana Bushmeleva (178-1) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks and point guard Dilnaz Asylbaeva (169-1) added 14 points respectively for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Turan have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 7-0 record. SCYSS lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with six games lost. Turan will meet at home Karaganda (#6) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. SCYSS will play against Nur-Sultan Tigers and hope to win that game.
