Regular Season Round 10: Eneos S. - Niigata R. 95-67

Very predictable result when third ranked Eneos S. (9-1) rolled over 13th ranked Niigata R. (1-13) in Kashiwa 95-67 on Sunday. Eneos S. shot 61.1 percent from the field and had 23 for 35 from the free-throw line, while Niigata R. only scored six points from the stripe. They outrebounded Niigata R. 51-30 including a 30-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. The former international power forward Ramu Tokashiki (193-91) notched 15 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and forward Ririka Okuyama (180-0) supported her with 18 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Even 14 points and 6 rebounds by point guard Nakayama Itsuki (171-96) did not help to save the game for Niigata R.. Point guard Momo Miyasaka (163-94) added 11 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Eneos S. have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 9-1 record behind leader Denso I. Niigata R. lost twelfth consecutive game. They dropped to the twelfth place with 13 games lost. Eneos S. will meet at home bottom-ranked Aranmare A. (#13) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Niigata R. will play against Toyota A. and hope to win that game.
