The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Toyota A. (6-1) in Nagoya on Sunday night. Hosts were edged by eighth ranked Toyota BSR (3-6) 66-63. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Toyota A.. Toyota BSR forced 20 Toyota A. turnovers. Strangely Toyota A. outrebounded Toyota BSR 43-31 including 24 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Asami Saito (174-96) who helped to win the game recording 13 points. International swingman Nanako Todo (175-0) contributed with 10 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. The former international center Stephanie Mawuli (182-98) replied with 12 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks and international point guard Mai Yamamoto (163-99) added 14 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Toyota A.Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Toyota BSR maintains eighth position with 3-6 record. Defending champion Toyota A. keeps the fifth place with one game lost. Toyota BSR will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Toyota A. will play on the road against Niigata R. (#12) in Tokyo and is hoping to win this game.
