Regular Season Round 14: Tokyo Z - Ehime OV 57-84

There was a minor upset when their close opponent Tokyo Z (1-15) was crushed at home by seventh ranked Ehime OV (5-11) 84-57 on Saturday. Ehime OV dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Tokyo Z's 34. They outrebounded Tokyo Z 47-30 including 35 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American-Filipino forward Eugene Phelps (198-90, college: LBSU) who had a double-double by scoring 31 points and 20 rebounds. American power forward Andrew Fitzgerald (202-90, college: Oklahoma) chipped in 26 points and 5 rebounds. American-Haitian forward Marc-Eddy Norelia (203-93, college: FGCU, agency: Duran International) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and American center Joshua Crawford (211-88, college: Indiana St.) added 10 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ehime OV have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place. Tokyo Z lost thirteenth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with 15 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
