Regular Season Round 4: Al Wakrah - Al Sadd 78-87

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Al Wakrah (1-1) at the home court on Wednesday night. Hosts were defeated by Al Sadd (1-0) 87-78. It was a key game for the top position in the league. International forward Babacar Dieng (197-97) fired a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 11 rebounds and 5 assists (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field) for the winners. American guard Byron Ashe (186-95, college: Longwood) chipped in 20 points and 9 assists. Four Al Sadd players scored in double figures. American Julius Coles Jr (193-89, college: Canisius) produced 32 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of his nine free throws !!!) and his fellow American import swingman Brandon Spearman (191-91, college: Hawaii) added 28 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Al Sadd keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams. Al Wakrah at the other side dropped to the fifth place with one game lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
