Regular Season Round 3: Al Shamal - Al Khor 102-97

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Al Khor (0-1) in Doha on Tuesday night. Visitors were defeated by Al Shamal (1-0) 102-97. Al Shamal made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for American point guard Willie Warren (193-89, college: Oklahoma, agency: Interperformances) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 10 assists. Serbian-Montenegrin forward Milko Bjelica (207-84) helped adding 23 points and 6 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Bosnian forward Milan Milosevic (204-85) with a double-double by scoring 29 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists and American guard Jeff Newberry (188-92, college: OK State) scored 27 points, 6 rebounds, 9 assists and 5 steals. Five Al Shamal and four Al Khor players scored in double figures. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
