Regular Season Round 13: Saga B. - Kumamoto V. 79-68

There was a minor upset when 3rd placed Kumamoto V. (7-6) lost on the road to fifth ranked Saga B. (5-8) 79-68 on Sunday. Saga B. dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Kumamoto V.'s 34. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Cuban guard Reynaldo Garcia (187-90) nailed a double-double by scoring 26 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists for the winning side and American center Garrett Stutz (214-90, college: Wichita St.) accounted for 27 points and 14 rebounds. American swingman LJ Peak (196-96, college: Georgetown, agency: Pensack Sports) came up with 19 points and 8 rebounds and British forward Benjamin Lawson (216-95, college: WKU) added 8 points and 13 rebounds respectively for Kumamoto V. in the defeat. Kumamoto V.'s coach Don Beck tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Saga B. moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Fukuoka R. Loser Kumamoto V. keeps the third position with six games lost. Saga B. will meet at home league's leader Kagawa FA in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kumamoto V. will play against Fukushima and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
