Regular Season Round 12: Kagoshima - Kanazawa 89-66
Date: November 14, 2021
Bottom-ranked Kanazawa (0-10) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their tenth consecutive match to eighth ranked Kagoshima (6-4) 89-66. Kagoshima dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Kanazawa's 38. Kagoshima forced 22 Kanazawa turnovers and had a 29-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by American forward Christian Cunningham (201-97, college: JSU) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 23 points and 14 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field) and the other American import swingman Anthony Gaines Jr (195-93, college: Louisiana Coll.) supported him with 20 points. Even a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds by Serbian forward Dusan Vicentic (204-97, college: WVWC) did not help to save the game for Kanazawa. Power forward Blake Aoki (202-93) added 10 points and 7 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kagoshima moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Okayama. Kanazawa at the other side still closes the standings with ten games lost.
