Regular Season Round 12: Toyoda - Saitama 83-85

Fourteenth-ranked Toyoda (1-11) gave a tough game to fifth ranked Saitama (8-4) in Aichi on Sunday. The visitors from Saitama managed to secure only two-point victory 85-83. However their fans expected much easier game. Saitama looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American power forward Ryan Watkins (206-91, college: Boise St.) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 20 rebounds. The other American import center Will Creekmore (205-89, college: Missouri St.) chipped in 21 points and 6 assists. Five Saitama players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American center CJ Gettys (213-94, college: Rutgers, agency: Haylett Sports) who recorded a double-double by scoring 21 points, 18 rebounds and 9 assists and point guard Ren Takemura (170-95) added 21 points and 4 assists respectively. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Saitama maintains fifth position with 8-4 record. Toyoda lost eleventh consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth place with 11 games lost.
