Date: November 7, 2021
The game between sixth ranked Shizuoka (6-2) and 10th ranked Aisin AW (3-5) in Shizuoka on Sunday ended with biggest points difference. Shizuoka outscored guests from Aichi 97-64. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Aisin AW. Shizuoka made 20-of-22 free shots (90.9 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Aisin AW's players. Argentinian forward Alexis Elsener (195-88, agency: Interperformances) notched 18 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of his seven free throws) to lead the effort and Beninese power forward Muusa Dama (207-96, college: EIU, agency: Blacktop Management) supported him with 16 points and 9 rebounds. Elsener is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Shizuoka players scored in double figures. Even 22 points and 5 rebounds by American center Nigel Spikes (208-89, college: Marshall) did not help to save the game for Aisin AW. His fellow American import Marcus Dove (206-85, college: OK State) added 13 points and 12 rebounds for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Shizuoka moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Okayama. Loser Aisin AW keeps the tenth position with five games lost. They share it with Yamaguchi. Shizuoka will meet Shinagawa (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Aisin AW will play against Yamaguchi and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
