Regular Season Round 9: Shizuoka - Aisin AW 80-90

There was a surprise result when tenth ranked Aisin AW (3-4) beat on the road higher ranked Shizuoka (5-2) 90-80 on Saturday. Aisin AW made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Aisin AW outrebounded Shizuoka 43-28 including a 33-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Aisin AW made 8 blocks. American forward Jordan Faison (201-94, college: CPP) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 16 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import Marcus Dove (206-85, college: OK State) chipped in 12 points, 13 rebounds and 7 blocks. The best for the losing side was Beninese power forward Muusa Dama (207-96, college: EIU, agency: Blacktop Management) with 18 points and 6 rebounds and Argentinian forward Alexis Elsener (195-88, agency: Interperformances) scored 14 points and 9 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the third consecutive win for Aisin AW.
