Regular Season Round 9: Ehime OV - FE Nagoya 79-104

There was no surprise in Matsuyama where 7th ranked Ehime OV (1-9) was crushed by first ranked FE Nagoya (9-1) 104-79 on Friday. FE Nagoya looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. American forward Scootie Randall (198-90, college: Temple) stepped up and scored 24 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals for the winners and his fellow American import forward Jeremy Jones (201-96, college: Gonzaga) chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds. FE Nagoya's coach Taizon Kawabe felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American-Filipino forward Eugene Phelps (198-90, college: LBSU) with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 18 rebounds and guard Masashi Joho (183-82) scored 21 points. Five FE Nagoya and four Ehime OV players scored in double figures. FE Nagoya have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 9-1 record. Ehime OV lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with nine games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
