Bottom-ranked Abha (0-6) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 94-83 loss to ninth ranked Al Fateh (2-4) in Al Hasa on Friday evening. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Algerian forward Mohamed Harat (198-90) had a double-double by scoring 25 points, 17 rebounds and 9 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Nigerian-American guard Michael Efevberha (195-84, college: CSUN) chipped in 32 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks during the contest. The best for the losing side was Tunisian Hamza Aiouz (-89) with 30 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and American forward Tavares Sledge (203-92, college: USC Aiken, agency: PBAplayers Agency) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Al Fateh moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Al Salam. Newly promoted Abha still closes the standings with six games lost. They share the position with Duba Club. Al Fateh will meet at home higher ranked Al Wehda (#7) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Abha will play against Duba Club (#12) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
