It was a great evening for American-Georgian guard Michael Dixon (186-90, college: Memphis) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 32 points, 7 rebounds and 11 assists. American center Tyler Harris (208-93, college: Auburn, agency: Interperformances) helped adding 21 points and 10 rebounds. Harris is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Five Al Gharafa players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Bosnian forward Milan Milosevic (204-85) with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds and American guard Jeff Newberry (188-92, college: OK State) scored 28 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Al Gharafa's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Doha to the arena Al Sadd.
