Regular Season Round 7: Ibaraki R. - San-en NP 95-79

There was a minor upset in Mito where 9th ranked San-en NP (2-5) was defeated by eleventh ranked Ibaraki R. (1-6) 95-79 on Saturday. Ibaraki R. outrebounded San-en NP 42-25 including 27 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a great evening for American Eric Jacobsen (208-94, college: Arizona St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 15 rebounds. Canadian-Italian power forward Marc Trasolini (206-90, college: Santa Clara) helped adding 19 points and 6 rebounds. At the losing side German center Elias Harris (203-89, college: Gonzaga, agency: BeoBasket) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists and American forward Justin Knox (206-89, college: UNC) scored 19 points and 5 rebounds. Four San-en NP players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Ibaraki R. maintains eleventh place with 1-6 record. It was San-en NP's third loss in a row. They dropped to the eighth position with five games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Ibaraki R. will again meet at home higher ranked San-en NP (#10) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. San-en NP will have a break next round.
