Very expected game in Kanagawa where 9th ranked Hokkaido L. (2-5) was defeated by fourth ranked Kawasaki BT (5-2) 85-73 on Saturday. Kawasaki BT looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Kawasaki BT made 9 blocks. It was a great evening for the former international power forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. Spanish Pablo Aguilar (203-89) helped adding 18 points and 10 rebounds. Four Kawasaki BT players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Shawn Long (208-93, college: La-Lafayette, agency: Pensack Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import DeMon Brooks (202-92, college: Davidson) scored 9 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kawasaki BT keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 5 other teams. Hokkaido L. at the other side dropped to the eighth place with five games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Kawasaki BT will again meet at home Hokkaido L. (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hokkaido L. will have a break next round.
