Regular Season Round 5: Chiba - Aisin AW 83-72

Everything went according to plan when leader Chiba (3-0) beat at home bottom-ranked Aisin AW (0-3) 83-72 on Saturday. Chiba shot 22 for 34 from the free-throw line, while Aisin AW only scored six points from the stripe. They outrebounded Aisin AW 44-27 including a 36-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Chiba looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Leo Lyons (206-87, college: Missouri) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. Forward Yuto Otsuka (188-87) chipped in 25 points (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Four Chiba players scored in double figures. American forward Jordan Faison (201-94, college: CPP) produced 15 points and 4 assists and the other American import center Nigel Spikes (208-89, college: Marshall) added 9 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Aisin AW's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Chiba have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place. Loser Aisin AW still closes the standings with three games lost. They share the position with Kanazawa. Chiba will again meet at home Aisin AW (#13) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Aisin AW will have a break next round.
