Regular Season Round 5: Koshigaya A. - Kagawa FA 84-74

Round 5 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Kagawa FA (4-2). They were defeated by fifth ranked Koshigaya A. (3-3) 84-74 on Friday night. Koshigaya A. looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. American center Isaac Butts (208-89, college: App State) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 17 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners and his fellow American import Craig Brackins (208-87, college: Iowa St., agency: SDJ Sports) chipped in 9 points, 11 rebounds and 13 assists. Koshigaya A.'s coach Sho Higashijima used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Terrance Woodbury (201-87, college: Georgia) responded with 33 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds and Australian center Angus Brandt (208-89, college: Oregon St.) scored 13 points and 8 rebounds. Koshigaya A. have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place. Kagawa FA at the other side dropped to the second position with two games lost. They share it with Nishinomiya S.. They were replaced at the leadership position by Kumamoto V.. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
