Regular Season Round 3: Gifu - Chiba 83-90

Very important is a home loss of Gifu (2-1) against Chiba (1-0) on Saturday night. Host Gifu was defeated by Chiba in a tough game in Gifu 83-90. The game was dominated by American players. It was a great evening for forward Leo Lyons (206-87, college: Missouri) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points and 7 rebounds. Power forward Evan Ravenel (204-89, college: Ohio St.) helped adding 18 points and 6 rebounds. The best for the losing side was forward Jerrell Wright (204-91, college: La Salle) with 24 points and 6 rebounds and center Jayce Johnson (213-97, college: Marquette) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 17 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Chiba will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Gifu will play again against Chiba (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
