A very close game took place in Hyogo between Kumamoto V. and Nishinomiya S.. Kumamoto V. got a very close victory on the road over Nishinomiya S.. Kumamoto V. managed to escape with a 2-point win 75-73 on Sunday evening. Kumamoto V. outrebounded Nishinomiya S. 36-25 including a 14-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American forward Jordan Hamilton (201-90, college: Texas) who scored 16 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists. British forward Benjamin Lawson (216-95, college: WKU) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. American forward DeQuan Jones (203-90, college: Miami, FL) produced 20 points and 4 assists and the former international guard Takuya Kawamura (193-86) added 11 points and 7 assists respectively for the hosts. Nishinomiya S.'s coach Mathias Fischer rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Kumamoto V. will meet at home Koshigaya A. in the next round where they are favorite. Nishinomiya S. will play against Aomori W. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
