Regular Season Round 1: Yamaguchi - Toyoda 83-92

Another interesting game for Toyoda which played on the court of Yamaguchi. Toyoda won 92-83. They made 25-of-32 charity shots (78.1 percent) during the game, while Yamaguchi only scored seven points from the stripe. They outrebounded Yamaguchi 35-23 including 29 on the defensive glass. Toyoda players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Yamaguchi was plagued by 31 personal fouls down the stretch. American center C.J. Gettys (213-94, college: Rutgers, agency: Haylett Sports) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and his fellow American import guard Tucker Haymond (198-94, college: W.Michigan) chipped in 26 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side American center Nicholas Evans (210-88, college: S.Indiana) responded with 28 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Rikiya Yamaguchi (180-96) scored 19 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Toyoda will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Yamaguchi will play again at home against Toyoda to get more than just one victory in their record.
