Regular Season Round 8: Blackwater Elite - NLEX RW 73-90

Bottom-ranked Blackwater Elite (0-10) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 90-73 loss to seventh ranked NLEX RW (5-5) in Caloocan City on Thursday evening. NLEX RW outrebounded Blackwater Elite 66-40 including a 22-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of JR Quinahan (198-84) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 8 rebounds and Guamanian guard Jericho Cruz (182-90) who added 8 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Four NLEX RW players scored in double figures. American guard Simon Enciso (180-91, college: NDN) responded with 17 points and 7 assists and Carl Cruz (193-91) scored 14 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. NLEX RW moved-up to sixth place. Loser Blackwater Elite still closes the standings with ten games lost. NLEX RW will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Blackwater Elite will play against Meralco Bolts (#3) in Manila and hopes to get finally their first victory.
