We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 7th ranked Gifu (13-27) was defeated at home by eighth ranked Tokyo HT (13-23) 82-76 on Sunday. Tokyo HT outrebounded Gifu 38-21 including a 28-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Masaya Ueda (177-93) fired 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Naturalized American point guard Samuel Sawaji (186-90) chipped in 15 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Four Tokyo HT players scored in double figures. Tokyo HT's coach Marko Filipovic allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Point guard Kentaro Yoshida (173-95) produced 24 points and 6 assists and American forward Worth Smith (198-93, college: Navy) added 22 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Tokyo HT moved-up to seventh place. Loser Gifu dropped to the eighth position with 27 games lost.
