The most crucial game of the last round was another loss of top-ranked Taiwan Beer (31-9) against second ranked Yulon Luxgen on Friday night. Yulon Luxgen were rolled over by Yulon Luxgen 83-61. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Yulon Luxgen dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Taiwan Beer's 26. They outrebounded Taiwan Beer 46-29 including 33 on the defensive glass. Yulon Luxgen looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. U.S. Virgin Islands forward Rakeem Christmas (206-91, college: Syracuse) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds for the winners and international Po-Chen Chou (196-90) chipped in 11 points and 6 rebounds. Four Yulon Luxgen players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was the former international center Shih-En Fan (198-94) with 7 points and 4 assists and swingman Hao-Ji Wang (195-93) scored 5 points and 10 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Yulon Luxgen maintains second place with 26-15 record having four points less than leader Taiwan Beer. Defending champion Taiwan Beer still keeps top position with nine games lost.
