Regular Season Round 22: Ghaz Al-Shamal - Al-Hashd 62-75

There was no surprise in Kirku where 11th ranked Ghaz Al-Shamal (2-12) was defeated by third ranked Al-Hashd (12-3) 75-62. Al-Hashd held Ghaz Al-Shamal to an opponent 0.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 0.0 percent accuracy of the winners. Al-Hashd players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Lebanese power forward Mohamad Haidar (203-90, college: Michigan Tech, agency: BIG) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points, 14 rebounds and 9 assists. The former international forward Thulfiqar Hammoodi (196-92) contributed with 29 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Khalid Sultan replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 15 rebounds and Kayhan Saeed added 8 points and 5 assists in the effort for Ghaz Al-Shamal. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Al-Hashd maintains third position with 12-3 record having six points less than leader Al Naft. Ghaz Al-Shamal lost third consecutive game. They keep the eleventh place with 12 games lost.
