Regular Season Round 5: Byblos - Anibal 101-70

Bottom-ranked Anibal (0-4) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their fourth consecutive match to eighth ranked Byblos (2-2) 101-70 on Sunday evening. Byblos dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Anibal's 48. Byblos forced 27 Anibal turnovers and outrebounded them 48-26 including a 18-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Anibal's players. The best player for the winners was Bechara Boustany who scored 25 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. Ziad El Ali chipped in 19 points and 7 rebounds. Byblos' coach felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Andre Tannoury (195-1) produced 15 points and 7 rebounds and guard Simon Daoud (182-85) added 19 points respectively for the guests. Four Anibal players scored in double figures. Byblos moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Champville and Atlas. Loser Anibal still closes the standings with four games lost. Byblos will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Anibal will play against Champville (#7) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
