An interesting game for Bank of Taiwan (13-18) which played against leader Taiwan Beer (27-4). Third ranked Bank of Taiwan managed to get a 8-point victory 79-71. Bank of Taiwan dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Taiwan Beer's 38. American swingman Zak Irvin (198-94, college: Michigan) nailed 19 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side and international center Zong-Rong Hsieh (200-95) accounted for 23 points and 5 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field). Swingman Hao-Ji Wang (195-93) came up with 11 points and 9 rebounds and the former international Po-Hsun Chou (197-91) added 13 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Taiwan Beer in the defeat. Four Taiwan Beer players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Bank of Taiwan maintains third place with 13-18 record having fourteen points less than leader Taiwan Beer. Taiwan Beer lost third consecutive game. Defending champion still keeps top position with four games lost. Bank of Taiwan will meet bottom-ranked Pauian (#5) in the next round. Taiwan Beer will play against Jutai Techn. (#4) and hope to secure a win.
