Regular Season Round 18: Al Kahraba - AL-Adhamiya 82-70

Another interesting game was again a derby between two teams from Baghdad: Al Kahraba (#4) and AL-Adhamiya (#12). Al Kahraba (9-3) won against visiting AL-Adhamiya (1-11) 82-70. Al Kahraba forced 19 AL-Adhamiya turnovers and outrebounded them 47-33 including 33 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for American guard Aaron Mitchell (188-89, college: Longwood) who led his team to a victory with 22 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international forward Ahmed Al-Tameemi (200-84) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Four Al Kahraba players scored in double figures. Al Kahraba's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. AlaA Al-Saedi replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds and Hayder Khudhair added 21 points in the effort for AL-Adhamiya. Al Kahraba maintains fourth position with 9-3 record. AL-Adhamiya at the other side stay at the bottom place with 11 games lost. Al Kahraba's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Baghdad to the arena Al Naft.
