Regular Season Round 11: Gifu - Aisin AW 71-85

B3 League top team - Aisin AW (15-5) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat seventh ranked Gifu (9-13) 85-71. Aisin AW players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Gifu's players. It was a great evening for American Josh Peppers (201-85, college: UCF) who led his team to a victory scoring 28 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import Kyle Richardson (200-91, college: Portland St.) helped adding 16 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists. Point guard Kentaro Yoshida (173-95) responded with 19 points and American forward Alex Floresca (203-96, college: San Diego) scored 8 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Gifu players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the ninth consecutive win for Aisin AW. They maintain first place with 15-5 record, which they share with Iwate and Okayama. Gifu lost their third game in a row. They keep the seventh position with 13 games lost. Aisin AW will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Gifu will play on the road against Toyoda Gosei (#6) in Aichi and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
